Day 1

March 17, 2026

Well, you are here, day one of seven. The hardest part of anything is the start. I’m sure most of you, especially those who haven’t fasted before, would find it difficult to commit to the fast.

But today, I want to encourage you that I’m confident you will see a difference in your spiritual life over the coming days-if you just put God first in your life. Use the scriptures I will be sharing each day to help you dedicate this time to God.

Also, if for whatever reason you break the fast early (eat a chip, or click on Instagram), please don’t stop, repent and keep going. I’m going to tell you now, it is going to be hard to deny your flesh what it desires. However, we have a God in heaven, who has conquered sin and death, that will give us the power to complete the fast.

Scipture

Matthew 4

4 Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. 2 After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. 3 The tempter came to him and said, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.” 4 Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’b”a

Devotion

2020 has shown us that we need God more than ever. Let this year be a year of seeking God’s face. We’ve tried it on our own, we tried it the world’s way, and we have ended up at the same place asking God, where are you? But he’s here waiting for you like the father of the prodigal son (Luke 15:11–32). Come back to him, fall on your knees and cry out to him during the first day of the fast, just cry out to God and tell him how much you desire to be in his presence, and nothing is going to come between you and Him.

Prayer

Lord your word says we must live on every word that comes out of your mouth, Help me to put the world behind me and seek you with all of my heart and soul, (in your own words call out to God) Amen

I thank God for this fellowship and I thank God for leading prayer warriors into my life , I’m filled with desire to know God more, to understand his character and to relate to the stories in his word. I believe change is a command and the battle has been won as I dedicate my prayer items to God may his Spirit lead me to more revelations and may it be a glorious experience as we draw nearer to God and engrave his word in our hearts and speak the word with reverence as servants of God …thank you
